Penguin Foundation to receive in-kind IT support from TCS
The Penguin Foundation will receive expert IT and technology support from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as part of a new pro-bono community programme.
Tata Consultancy Services is one of the world’s leading IT, consultancy and business solutions firms, and their new Pro Bono Community Program offers health, education and environment focussed not-for-profit organisations the opportunity to realise how technology can improve their operations’ ability to create a significant and positive impact on their communities and the environment. The six beneficiaries will receive support in areas such as website development, technology optimisation, digitisation and digital transformation, valued collectively at over AUD$1 million.
Deborah Hadwen, CEO of TCS Australia and New Zealand announced the pro-bono support at a recent event in Sydney. Along with the Penguin Foundation, other beneficiaries of this programme are HeartKids Australia, Cystic Fibrosis New South Wales, Hunter Medical Research Institute, the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation and the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre.
Dr Peter Dann, Penguin Foundation board member commented: “The IT and technology solutions offered by Tata Consultancy Services will provide us with the ability to significantly improve and grow our donor programmes. This, in turn will allow us to invest further resources into our community and fundraising activities which support vital wildlife and environmental research and conservation activities on Phillip Island”.
The Penguin Foundation aims to provide a dedicated source of funding to support little penguin conservation projects on Phillip Island. These include little penguin rescue and rehabilitation in the event of a man-made disaster; building new little penguin nesting areas; monitoring little penguin health and behaviour; protecting the little penguins' natural environment; and contributing funding to the vital Phillip Island Nature Parks Wildlife Clinic on Phillip Island.
