Phillip Island Nature Parks to host a two-day Teachers’ Expo this September
What has 3 different ecosystems, 97km of spectacular coastline, strong educational programs linked with curriculum, unique wildlife, indigenous history, Victoria’s leading attractions and is only 90 minutes from Melbourne? Phillip Island of course! Phillip Island Nature Parks will be showcasing their diverse range of educational programs through a series of professional development sessions at the annual Teacher’s Expo, from 23 to 24 September, 2017.
Open to Victorian teachers and their families, the Expo is a free industry experience and will offer attendees the opportunity to learn first-hand about the wide range of educational activities and services provided by Phillip Island Nature Parks’ Education Department, and even take home a complete set of classroom-ready enviro resources for both Primary and Secondary classes.
Sessions will be delivered at a number of Phillip Island Nature Parks’ best attractions, including free entry to the Antarctic Journey at the Nobbies, the Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island Heritage Farm and the world-famous Penguin Parade, plus a discounted rate on the Wild Oceans EcoBoat.
Attendees can curate their own schedule across the weekend, bring the family along for the fun, and take advantage of some special rates and packages offered by a selection of Phillip Island accommodation providers.
Certified in Advanced Ecotourism, Phillip Island Nature Parks offers environmental education experiences for all ages, from kindergarten to tertiary level, and aims to develop and inspire a greater understanding of the natural environment through exploration, investigation and hands-on activities. Their programs cover a wide range of topics, including biology, geography, outdoor and environmental studies, and environmental science.
