Summer is the perfect time to explore the Nature Park and all that our wonderful island offers. Make the most of a visit by joining our rangers for our Wild Island Summer Holiday Program. Our activities are aimed for the whole family to explore nature, so children must always be accompanied by an adult.

Activity Descriptions

 

Koala Prowl:

  • Venture into the night with Phillip Island Nature Parks’ rangers for a close encounter with the creatures at the Koala Reserve. Try to spot koalas, possums, bats and more.
  • BOOKING REQUIRED. Children must be accompanied by an adult, minimum age 5 years.
  • Dates: 2, 9 & 21 January. Time: 9.00pm
  • Cost: $10 per participant, please ensure ALL guests who are attending have a ticket (children & adults).

Nature Scavenger Hunt:

  • Explore Phillip Island’s bushland on this ranger led scavenger hunt. Meet our rangers at Oswin Roberts, Harbison Road car park.
  • Bookings are NOT required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This activity will be cancelled in the case of a Total Fire Ban.
  • Dates: 2, 6, 13 & 20 January. Time: 10:30am
  • Cost: FREE

Rockpool Ramble:

  • Explore the secret life of an elephant snail or look at the eating habits of an eleven-arm sea star on one of our fascinating rockpool rambles.
  • BOOKING REQUIRED. Children must be accompanied by an adult, minimum age 5 years.
  • Date: 16 January. Time: 10am

Rockpool Spotlight:  

  • Come and join us for the after dark action of the rockpools. Delve into the mysterious lives of our rockpool creatures as our rangers enthral you with the incredible diversity and abilities of the animals that live here.
  • BOOKING REQUIRED, Children must be accompanied by an adult, minimum age 5 years.
  • Dates: 14 & 15 January. Time: 8.30pm
  • Cost: $10 per participant

Sandcastles & Treasures:

  • Join us for all the fun of beach discovery with our beach treasures challenge and sandcastle building competition!
  • Bookings are NOT required. Look for us on Smith’s Beach.
  • Dates: 3, 10, 17 & 24 January. Time: participate anytime between 10:30-12:30pm
  • Cost: FREE

Shearwater Sunset:

  • Discover the world of the short-tailed shearwater on this ranger led walk. You will be amazed!
  • BOOKING REQUIRED. Children must be accompanied by an adult, minimum age 5 years.
  • Dates: 7 & 23 January. Time: 8.00pm
  • Cost: $10 per participant

Wild Art & Craft: Threatened Species:

  • Have fun creating art and craft masterpieces in this threatened species inspired session!
  • Bookings are NOT required, find us in the Chisholm Centre at the Koala Reserve (entry to the koala’s is not required to join in). Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Dates: 8, 15 & 22 January. Time: participate anytime between 10:30-12:30pm
  • Cost: FREE

 

PLEASE NOTE Outdoor activities will be cancelled in the case of adverse weather that impacts on the safety or quality of our programs. Unfortunately tickets purchased are non-refundable, non changeable and non transferrable. Tickets cannot be exchanged or returned after purchase due to adverse weather conditions.

Antarctic Journey at The Nobbies Centre

Learn about the oceans from the icy waters of the Antarctic to the rocky shores of Phillip Island. Take a tour with our rangers to hear stories of conservation, climate change and what lives in the deep.

Daily tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Included in entry to Antarctic Journey

Churchill Island Farm Activities

Step back in time at this heritage working farm, animal nursery and peaceful gardens. Daily activities start at 11am with animal nursery tours, cow milking, sheep shearing, whip cracking and working dog demonstrations. Daily from 11am to 3.30pm. Included in entry to Churchill Island.

Phillip Island Nature Parks’ education and interpretation rangers hold current Working with Children checks or Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration. Each ranger is highly skilled in environmental education.

 

PLEASE be prepared, with sunscreen, hat, coat, sensible shoes and a torch for night activities.
