Take a step back in time and explore the heritage and tranquil scenery of Churchill Island’s extensive farm grounds and beautiful gardens.

Churchill Island was the site of the first farm in Victoria and its pioneering history is still evident today.

Wander the old homestead and discover the ways of the olden days with the daily heritage farming activities like sheep shearing, working dogs, cow milking, and whip cracking. 

Bundled tickets

The date of your visit to the Penguin Parade and/or EcoBoat Tour must be booked and will be printed on your ticket. You may visit the other attractions on your tickets, eg the Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island Heritage Farm or Antarctic Journey once within six months of the printed date, either before or after your Penguin Parade visit.

 


 

 

 

Things to know

  • Open 10am to 5pm daily, from 2pm on Christmas day.
  • Browse the gift shop and relax in the licensed café.
  • Family ticket includes 2 adults and 2 children (4-15)

Daily farming activities:

1.00-1.45pm         wagon rides (school and public holidays only, weather permitting )
2.10pm                 cow milking
2.30pm                 sheep shearing
2.45pm                 whip cracking
3.05pm                 Working dogs
3.20pm                 Sheep shearing

How to get here
By car: Phillip Island is located 90 minutes drive from Melbourne. Allow a further 10 minutes from the bridge to get to Churchill Island. Free car parking on site.

By bus: Public transport is limited on Phillip Island. V-line operates a bus to Phillip Island’s main town, Cowes, from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne city.

Please note that the V-line bus does not go to the Penguin Parade and there are no return buses to Melbourne at the conclusion of the Penguin Parade. 

By taxi: Contact Phillip Island Taxis on 03 5952 2200 to arrange transfers on Phillip Island.

Tours and Transport: Contact a Visitor Information Centre in Melbourne or on Phillip Island for tours and transport options
