EcoBoat Adventure Tour
Experience the thrill of a high speed 90 minute boat ride along Phillip Island's rugged and spectacular coastline to enjoy an up close encounter with one of Australia's largest colonies of fur seals. As the EcoBoat slips in to a protected inlet between the two rocky plateaus, visitors will enjoy some fantastic, up close viewing of the rock’s inhabitants. Naturally curious and playful, the seals come to greet the boat and check out its occupants, all the while putting on an amazing and amusing show as they duck their heads in and out of the water and play a game of leap-frog with each other.
See the Nobbies hidden sea-cave, shaped by centuries of pounding wave action, and visible only from the water. View the Purple Rock tern rookery and the Grossard Point Historic Site before a stop at the Cat Bay National Surfing Reserve, famous for its longboard break. Your experienced captain will then put the EcoBoat through its paces with a bit of wave-running. Your tour concludes as you pull in at the jetty in plenty of time to make it to the sunset viewing at the Penguin Parade.
Island Discovery Tour
Embark on a voyage of discovery on this 3 hour tour as you explore the many wonders of Phillip Island’s spectacular coastline, the secluded beauty of French Island and the waters of Western Port. The EcoBoat’s experienced Skipper will plot the tour’s course subject to daily conditions, but some possible highlights of the journey may include seeing the playful seals at Seal Rocks, Nobbies blowhole, views of the GP track from the water, Pyramid Rock, the Pinnacles, Cat Bay, French Island National Park, San Remo, Churchill Island and many more.
The Island Discovery Tour includes a picnic lunch to be enjoyed at a surprise location, perhaps on one of the island’s many amazing beaches, or even on one of the stunning, secluded beaches on French Island.
This tour operates every Saturday and Sunday between 26 November and early April (except Christmas Day)
Shearwater Sunset Tour
Watch the shearwaters return to their clifftop rookeries at sunset from the comfort of the Wild Oceans EcoBoat, offering an unrivalled view of this amazing natural occurrence. Enjoy stunning views of Cape Woolamai and the Pinnacles as you make your way to the waters off Woolamai Beach. Your skipper will manoeuvre the EcoBoat into the best position to see the shearwaters circling around and above you.
The clear skies above Phillip Island come alive from November through to April as we herald the return of the short-tailed shearwater to the island’s southern coasts, following one of the longest known annual migrations across the globe. Short-tailed shearwaters record amazing distances as they travel around the world. After spending the northern summer in the oceans around the Aleutian Islands near Alaska, they complete an amazing flight of over 16,000km to locate their partners here and lay a single egg in their burrow.
This tour departs 30 minutes before sunset every Saturday between 26 November and early April. Please refer to the Departure Schedule for details.
