Jumpstart your conservation career with a Nature Parks Internship!

Nature Parks interns take ownership of a project and develop skills and contacts that assist them in building their futures. Interns also have the chance to explore other opportunities through the Nature Parks to assist with determining their career path.

Each year we offer different projects based on our current work. Previous projects have included:

Cameras in Conservation: Interns joined our vertebrate pest team in deploying, maintaining and analysing monitoring cameras to capture imagery of wildlife and introduced pest species for conservation purposes.

Tracks and Trails: Using high accuracy GPS devices and GIS interns created maps detailing the tracks and trails of the Nature Parks. This information will be used to inform our parks management including fire access.

Beach Nesting Birds: Each year interns assist our beach nesting birds team by monitoring threatened hooded plovers and deploying cameras on nests to collect data around nest successes and failures.

Visitor Surveys: Marketing students assisted in creating and deploying surveys to capture Market segments and visitor data to inform our campaigns and shape our products.
